Deep house

Deep house combined the atmospheric sound of house with elements of jazz, ambient and chill-out. For a while it was even called "soul house" or "gospel house". Initially, deep-house was overflowing with melodies built on old chord progressions played with the soft sound of an electric organ.

Specifications

Deep house is known for tempos from 110 to 125 per minute, muted bass lines, extensive use of percussion elements, soft keyboard sounds, and the use of complex chords, mostly female vocals. The lyrics focus on positive / exciting or unhappy contemporary blues lyrics. Vocals have survived in deep house, but new forms of the house music genre have often left it, but these days this phenomenon has largely disappeared. The influence of jazz can be seen in the use of complex chords rather than simple triads - 7, 9, 13, suspension, shift - and less popular chord sequences, which gives the songs a slightly dissonant but pleasant feel. Slower, smoother rhythms and a stylish, smooth, chic demeanor make deep house a much more mature, sensual, bubbling metaphor for sex compared to other genres of electronic music. It rarely reaches a climax, but remains a comfortable, relaxing and hypnotic impulse, perfect for a small nightclub.

History

In the beginning, this style was full of melodies built on old chord progressions. Deep House contains elements of jazz, funk, soul and detroit techno. All this helps this style to stay at the peak of popularity for all time. The melodic sound of the music envelops the listener, immersing them in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. To many, this style of electronic music is difficult to digest. This style is not designed to create an atmosphere of dance and fun like Club House. In the number of vocal parts it is significantly inferior to its counterpart Vocal House. Fans of the minimalist trend Tribal House will find familiar motifs in Deep House music.

In the 2000s and 2010s, the genre was still very popular. However, by 2014, the perception of this genre led to some house music becoming deeply named. But this is wrong, and since then the term has been used to describe various types of bass house music.

Over the thirty years of its existence, House has produced so many independent styles that now we can already speak of it as one of the main directions in the development of all electronic music and the first style that emerged from the underground and opened the way for many contemporary artists and producers to fame.
